Neekeri = nigger?

[edit]

I wonder if a more proper translation would be the one in the dictionary, which is "negro". "Neekeri" has acquired a derogatory connotation only recently (1990s to be exact), and even that is disputed. Besides, the movie "Pekka ja Pätkä Neekereinä" isn't (in my opinion) making fun of black people, rather, it makes fun of parochial Finns who gawp in wonder at two dimwits in blackface. So I'm editing it to dispense with the over-the-top racist term to put it into proper context. Ruo-kone 18:07, 10 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"the Arabs from the 1958 film were depicted as required". Depicted as required? What's that supposed to mean? Jah77 (talk) 14:13, 12 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"Janitor" Pikkarainen

[edit]

I would gladly accept an alternate translation for this title as Janitor is a bit misleading. Building manager sounds a bit off and he's not their landlord officially, I think. Currently in the process of beefing up the Puupää series' articles. CaptainNtheGameMaster (talk) 10:15, 22 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
