Asahi Pentax 6x7 and Pentax 67 information is wrong and must be updated

[edit]

The Asahi Pentax brand is being revived in the UK by takeover of the trade mark and the domain name by a group previously employed by Asahi Optical Co. in the 1980s. The "brand owner" is best placed to provide facts and data about their cameras.

The "Pentax 6x7" is the wrong name. The full name is Asahi Pentax 6x7 because it wa smade by the Asahi Optical Co. The name of the article must be corrected The word "Asahi" was only dropped in the 1990s with introduction of the camera called "Pentax 67"

The Pentax 67 camera is the 3rd generation camera in the history of 6x7cm cameras made by "Pentax Corporation", previously Asahi Optical Co., who invented the 6x7 camera. The Pentax 67 redirect to 6x7 is wrong in principle because it creates a impression that they are one of the same which is totally untrue. This must be corrected and the redirect must be removed. "Must"? There is no "must" in Wikipedia, only WP:CONSENSUS. If you want to rename the whole article, see WP:RM for how to start a move discussion. To just split out one version of the camera into a separate article, see WP:SPLIT. Meanwhile, you might want to read up on what WP:REDIRECTS are and are not for in Wikipedia, since your assertions about the one at Pentax 67 are not correct. Lastly, read WP:COI for information about editing a subject area with which you are closely-associated and have a potential conflict of interest. It doesn't say you can't, but it is "strongly discouraged" and if you choose to edit anyway there are guidelines for disclosure. Lithopsian (talk) 16:59, 4 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The correct name is Asahi Pentax 6x7 not Pentax 6x7

[edit]

The correct name is Asahi Pentax 6x7 not Pentax 6x7. This is patently obvious when you look at the camera itself. On the logo plate on the prism it says Asahi Pentax. On the back of the "6x7" cover on the right it says Asahi Pentax Optical Co. Ltd Japan. Opcouk (talk) 08:30, 2 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
