Public Transport[edit]

Heavily subsidizing public transport???

What were they thinking?

Surely they were not trying to achieve a fair and equitable society!

I mean, how would people get rich like that???

Delete[edit]

This article needs to be deleted. The local politics of a particular area of the UK during a particular time in history does not qualify as noteworthy. It's also happens to be a complete mess of an article, with nothing other than the author's arbitrary discretion to decide which of the government's policies at the time qualify for mention in this article.

Tried removing the crap from the article, but someone is very protective over this shoddy work. Perhaps he'd like to:

Provide sources for the claims being made, explain the notability of the article, explain the relevance of Hallam being a wealthy area, explain the relevance of there being war memorials in sheffield, explain the relevance of the items in the list of policies to the nickname of the area and tell us why his opinion of what is and is not ironic in british politics belongs in an encyclopedia article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.102.43.72 (talk) 00:29, 13 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You sir, are a party-pooper. 78.149.196.209 (talk) 20:06, 17 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I just don't like seeing articles full of left wing bias in a supposedly neutral encyclopaedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.102.43.72 (talk) 13:51, 31 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Housing[edit]

Park Hill flats were constructed between 1957 and 1961, so they're irrelevant to an article about the City Council's policies or actions in the 1980s.

I'm not aware of any construction of "large council estates with large numbers of communal blocks of flats based on the streets in the sky philosophy" during the period in question.
