Status of Pireka[edit]

"with an initial spelling of Pireka" - Does this mean that "Peraki" is a non-Māori corruption of the original name of Pireka (probably Pī reka)? Can someone clarify? The name has come up as a childhood home of Frank Worsley, captain of the recently rediscovered ship Endurance --Hugh7 (talk) 22:00, 9 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
