Slightly problematic wording[edit]

As his cancer progressed, he wrote of his beliefs about life and death in lengthy, highly philosophical emails to friends. He halted mainstream Western medical treatment in favor of Eastern therapies, abandoned his strict vegan diet and wound up outliving his doctors' prognoses by many months.

The writer who added this is implying that Western medical treatment, and a strict vegan diet would have shortened Douglas’ lifespan. There’s no evidence that is true. Further, the idea that Douglas outlived the time his doctor’s said he would live by months is hardly notable. I think this should be rewritten to avoid these implications.
