Notability

[edit]

This article needs a complete refresh. I'm unable to do it so I'm placing information here

OCSM is the Organization of Canadian Symphony Musicians

McCoppin is included in the Canadian Encyclopedia https://www.thecanadianencyclopedia.ca/en/article/peter-mccoppin-emc "Since 2001, he has enjoyed a successful second career as a keynote speaker and coach for speech writing and public speaking at the corporate level."

He is listed by the BC Entertainment Hall of Fame https://bcentertainmenthalloffame.com/mccoppin-peter/ "Peter McCoppin was Music Director of the Victoria Symphony from 1989 to 1999. During his tenure, the orchestra was debt-free and played to the largest per capita audience in Canada." "McCoppin is credited with leading the Vancouver Symphony out of bankruptcy in 1989, rebuilding public and corporate confidence and putting the orchestra once again into profitable operation."

He was the founding conductor of Symphony Splash

I expect there are other sources, too. But I think that's enough to establish notability so I have removed the flag.

The opinions of John Becker seem written in a biased manner designed to highlight a book. The scurrilous words should be in an explicit quotation if they are retained. However. Becker's book isn't readily available. Humpster (talk) 02:49, 26 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
