Merge proposal

[edit]

Guidelines at Wikipedia:WikiProject UK geography/How to write about settlements state that ideally the civil parish should be the catch-all article, avoiding single line articles on every village and landmark within the parish.

Therefore, I suggest that villages within the parish with a one or two sentence article, ie Byworth to be merged and redirected to this parish article. ++ MortimerCat (talk) 14:49, 5 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"In 2001 the population of the parish was 2775 persons living in 1200 households of whom 1326 were economically active."
What does it mean "economically active", and did 1326 people were economically active, or 1326 households?
If it's people, maybe it's best to write "In 2001 the population of the parish included 1200 households and 2775 people - 1326 of which were economically active." --אריה ה. (talk) 13:44, 8 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

"Of whom" can only refer to people. If it was about households it would have to say "of which", so it is clear to native English speakers. "Economically active" means they are employed or creating wealth or earning money in whatever way.--Charles (talk) 22:49, 8 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
