Sambremeusomething

[edit]

The name of one of the genera provides a puzzle. Three variants are in use. The one that makes etymologically most sense would be Sambremeusaspis (Shield found at the Sambre and Meuse rivers), e.g. in G.D,. Edgecombe (1991). The Silurian Dalmanitid Trilobite Glytambon Holloway: New Species from Tennessee and Illinois. Journal of Paleontology 63(2):294-300. Most commonly is used Sambremeuaspis Lespérance, 1988, e.g. in the Global Names Index and George P. Hansen (2009). Trilobites of Black Cat Mountain. iUniverse. Finally, also in the Global Names Index is mentioned Sambremeusapis fossesensis Lespérance, 1987. So it seems there is also confusion about the publication date. Keep in mind anything other then a cited etymology from the author is not valid to add to wiki, as it constitutes original research.--Kevmin § 15:04, 26 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
