Excellent

[edit]

Excellent page. I've nominated for Did you know. Thanks and regards. --Antorjal 05:26, 7 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

one of the things not so excellent is the overlong list of unimportant references. DGG (talk) 17:56, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This article on phage ecology was expanded from a stub during the writing of the first chapter of the edited monograph, Bacteriophage Ecology (forecasted publication date: March, 2008, Cambridge University Press), in order to be cited by that chapter especially as a repository of phage ecology review chapters and articles.

Not necessarily the best idea, as Wikipedia can change all the time. Richard001 (talk) 08:07, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Example farm

[edit]

I've removed the entire "Further reading" section, which threatened to dwarf the article with its dozens of recommendations. Wikipedia is not a list of books. WhatamIdoing (talk) 21:44, 11 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestions

[edit]

It may be a good idea to include more information on the relationship between phage and bacteria, as it is so important. Also in the "historical overview" section or in the "studying phage ecology" section I think it would be beneficial to talk about how research into phages has really taken off in recent years. Finally, in the "Phage Ecosystem Ecology" section you mention that ecologists are concerned about how phages impact the carbon cycle. Instead of stopping there, maybe go a little more in depth as it sounds like an important issue. Alombard.9 (talk) 12:01, 1 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
