Merger proposal[edit]

The first sentence of Achoth sums it up fairly well. "Achoth was a national collegiate sorority operating from 1910 until its name change to Phi Omega Pi in 1932." They're the same organization. Sophus Bie (talk) 12:02, 14 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Merger status[edit]

The text indicates that alumnae of Phi Omega Pi were accepted into Delta Zeta in 1946. --At least those who chose to accept that affiliation rather than following their local chapters into whatever other merger partner they chose. So what is the technical status of the closed, and inactive chapters? Where their alumnae (individuals) were adopted into Delta Zeta, does this mean that their former chapters (as legal entities) were absorbed into the chapter roll of Delta Zeta? And when Delta Zeta might colonize on that campus, would this mean a re-assertion of the predecessor group's earlier date of founding, and make the new colonization a "re-colonization"? The text is unclear. Jax MN (talk) 18:32, 12 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
