No relation? to the former mayor of Phoenix Arizona? (or, is he?)

[edit]

Maybe this article should clearly state that this Philip Gordon is not (or, is -- whichever is true!) -- the same person as the "Phil Gordon" -- (see Phil Gordon (politician)) -- who was the mayor of Phoenix, Arizona from January 2, 2004 until January 3, 2012. Any comments? --Mike Schwartz (talk) 03:05, 10 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Both articles have pictures, and I don't see the resemblance. The articles don't have much resemblance either: the birthdates differ, the colleges differ, and one traveled with President Bush in 2008 while the other worked on Obama's campaign in 2008. So unless you know of some other reason to think they're the same, besides that they're both in politics, I could make a disambiguation page (they look like Philip Gilbert (disambiguation)). It would also include Phil Gordon, best known for poker, and Phil Gordon (actor). And each article would get a WP:Hatnote telling readers "For others with similar names ..."
