Wife & kids?[edit]
There's no mention this guy's social or family background, not even a mention of whether he ever married. As a biography, it's a bit thin. There's probably a template that says "This article is a bit thin - help Wikipedia and flesh it out a bit", or some paraphrase, that ought to be on this page.

Clarification wanted - Cowling or Ickornshaw Moor?[edit]
His article in the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography states his ashes were scattered on "Cowling Moor near Ickornshaw", a detail I have incorporated in this article. However I also see the moor referred as to Ickornshaw Moor in the articles on his widow and on Cowling. Which is the correct name?Cloptonson (talk) 13:50, 24 April 2013 (UTC)
Labour Party spelling[edit]
I notice the Labour Party is mostly referred to in the Americanised form as Labor. As this is the British Labour Party and a British English politician being talked about, I will correct the spelling accordingly.Cloptonson (talk) 20:45, 9 February 2019 (UTC)
