Factual Errors

[edit]
  • corrected statement on being the largest domed arena, it should be qualified that this is an indoor arena. outdoor arenas which are also domed like the cowboy arena has capacities over 100k seats. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Daimengrui (talkcontribs) 01:46, 10 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Seating capacity

[edit]

There is an insistent edit war on Philippine arena. Looking on more reliable sources the seating capacity lies between 50,000-55,000 only and not the bloated 55,000-60,000

Populous(architect)- 50,000 seats "Situated on a green field site north of Manila, the arena is of a scale not previously seen in the Philippines and will put the country on the world stage. It has been master planned to cater not only for 50,000 inside but has the capacity for an additional 50,000 people to gather at a “live site” outside the building to share in major events."[1]

Hanwha E&C(contractor)- 50,000 seats "The facility located near Manila, named the Philippine Arena, will be fitted with 50,000 seats and its domed roof will be nearly 36,000 square meters, making it the world’s largest domed arena, the company said."[2]

Guinness World Records(adjudicator)- 51,919 seats "Guinness World Records recognized the Philippine Arena for accommodating up to 51,919 spectators."[3]

Location

[edit]

It appears that the Philippine Arena including the nearby Philippine Sports Stadium literally stands in both lands of Bocaue and Santa Maria, Bulacan according to this. Although Bocaue is more cited in the media to be the location of both venues.--Hariboneagle927 (talk) 03:28, 28 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Google map says this indoor arena is located in Santa Maria, but the Iglesia Ni Cristo admin office which manages the arena is located in the adjacent INC local ng Ciudad de Victoria which is within Bocaue. I guess thats why they have Bocaue as address.--RioHondo (talk) 18:47, 9 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Brawl at Phil. Arena

[edit]

Someone made an edit that praised the Philippines during the brawl at the arena last July 2. Any attempt at jingoism on either the Philippines or Australia's side violates NPOV and shall be removed accordingly.

On that note, does anyone think there should be an article about the event? Image2012 (talk) 05:34, 4 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

There's already an article about the brawl. Philippines-Australia basketball brawl. Imo it easily passes WP:GNG. Feel free to contribute, there are still some info left out.Hariboneagle927 (talk) 06:18, 4 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Structure

[edit]

Hi, the wording has been doubled up so if you can just fix it that would be great.. "Built on 99,200 **square meters** (1,068,000 sq ft) **square meters** of land". Thanks 120.16.15.31 (talk) 23:38, 26 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Done. Thank you for pointing that out. —C.Fred (talk) 23:39, 26 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Change exact seating capacity to 51,929 as certified by the Guinness World Records on July 21, 2014. Source: https://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/world-records/60280-largest-mixed-use-indoor-theatre 120.29.76.199 (talk) 18:52, 3 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: The sentence and infobox state that it's for maximum attendance and record attendance respectively. Although 51,929 seats is the actual capacity, 55,000 the max it can actually accommodate. Callmemirela 🍁 20:07, 3 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Overall Event should be Coldplay Music of the Spheres since it was a 2-day event with more then 96,000 people in attendance. More than the 1-day Tamang Panahon Event Jonrren (talk) 03:38, 11 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
