Taxonomy[edit]

There might be some confusion in the future, so I wanted to clarify what I've been doing today. The houseplant we're talking about here has several scientific synonyms. One of the non-scientific ones is Philodendron cordatum hort. This is actually a different species from Philodendron cordatum Kunth. The people at The Exotic Rainforest do a good job, I think, of un-muddling the taxonomy, but if you want a more authoritative source, the USDA's ARS-GRIN Taxonomy database is pretty great with references and links to more information. This species is supposed to have a lot of variation, so I'd like to see some more pictures. And yeah, there should be plenty of other information online we could add to this article.
