Article revamp[edit]

I have just finished a wholesale revamp of the article. The article as it previously was, had many issues, such as irrelevant information (a significant chunk of the article), a lame introduction, repetition, a non-encyclopedic writing style, and factual inaccuracies. I have summarized the major changes below:

  • Rewrote the introduction (I know it's still not the greatest, but at least it's better than before)
  • Replaced references to "Lebanon" with "Phoenicia", since that is what the land was called at the time
  • Rewrote the section on the Babylonian conquest of Assyria, making it clearer, more detailed, and more accurate
  • Removed the section on Nabopolassar, since it is completely irrelevant to the subject of this article
  • Rewrote the caption of the image of Nebuchadnezzar, because the previous caption was just ridiculous (it said "Whilst many may have sighed at the demise of Assyria" when in fact it is common knowledge that the Assyrians were one of the most hated conquering empires in history)
  • Removed the part on the destruction of Jerusalem, again since it is irrelevant to this article
  • Rewrote the section on the fall of Babylon, making it clearer, more detailed, and more accurate

I hope I have really improved the article, and if anyone has concerns or suggestions, I would be very happy to discuss them here on this talk page. King Philip V of Spain (talk) 19:48, 4 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
