General complaint

[edit]

I don't want to be negative about someone's work, a lot of work, but I find a lot of problems about this. To begin with the trivial, the Greek etymology is marred by many small mistakes, such as rendering a gamma by j and phi by f. More serious: much of the English of the text I just find unintelligible. i tried to correct the phrasing and grammar and contents, but I've given up. I can't make sense out of it. TomS TDotO (talk) 14:59, 13 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I don't want to get into an edit war, so I won't restore the templates. I was expecting some discussion on this talk page. Here is one of the more unintellible passages, the section "Similarities and differences". I don't know what this supposed to tell anyone. TomS TDotO (talk) 02:10, 25 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I find the piece to overemphasize terminology, but I didn't object to the attempt to clarify them. I'm certainly open to changing the heading, but I couldn't come up with something I really liked. What do you think of just "Terminology"? In general, I encourage you to make changes yourself. Lfstevens (talk) 18:19, 25 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
It would be better if it were in English prose, expository writing, rather than quasi-mathematical symbolism. TomS TDotO (talk) 20:29, 25 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Fine, so change it! Lfstevens (talk) 06:47, 26 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
If I knew what it was supposed to be saying, I would. TomS TDotO (talk) 07:51, 26 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
