Update

I will do this line next weekend. -fonzy —Preceding unsigned comment added by Fonzy (talkcontribs) 21:21, 6 October 2002

Bombings

I've trimmed the section on the 2005 bombings a bit (and moved it down to a subsection of 'History') as it's no longer a current event, and it's covered well elsewhere. --Mpk 20:27, 15 January 2006 (UTC)

Does the 2005 bombings section deserve a whole sections? It appears disproportionate to the rest of the line's history...

Route Diagram

Just a heads-up: I made a simple route diagram over at Template:Piccadilly Line. It's far from being usable, but I just thought you might like to know. Kevin Steinhardt 21:33, 16 October 2007 (UTC)

Fake Buildings

Sorry if this sounds foolish but I heard some while ago that a certain part of the london subway - not sure which line, may even be gone now - was made in such a way that they couldn't have real buildings up anymore so they built fakes to either side of the road. I don't know much more about this but if it's true can you give me the name? Chooserr

I think you might be on about 23/24 Leinster Gardens - Google will reveal all.

Google revealed Leinster Gardens. FTR, it doesn't seem to be related to Piccadilly Line. Probably Circle/District lines. Open4D (talk) 15:24, 31 August 2008 (UTC)

Piccadilly

Might be nice to get a mention of Piccadilly the street, whose article says "The Piccadilly line of the London Underground takes its name from Piccadilly and part of the line travels under Piccadilly. Green Park, Hyde Park Corner and Piccadilly Circus tube stations all have entrances either on or near to Piccadilly." Also, when and how did the name "Piccadilly Line" come into existence and replace the previous names? Open4D (talk) 15:30, 31 August 2008 (UTC)

Requested move

There is a proposal to move all the articles of the Transport of London tube lines, capitalizing the "L" of "line". Please see the centralized discussion at Talk:Victoria line#Requested move. Ed Fitzgerald t / c 23:55, 3 June 2009 (UTC)

Now closed. --DavidCane (talk) 22:45, 6 June 2009 (UTC)

Northern extension

Probably should mention the section north of Cockfosters which was started but interrupted by the second world war and never completed. Some of the works were still there last time I looked (Brownturkey (talk) 16:23, 30 December 2008 (UTC))

as far as I am aware, there were never plans north of Cockfosters; maybe you are thinking of the Northern Line north of Edgware? --AlisonW (talk) 17:18, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
yes you're probably right - sorryBrownturkey (talk) 16:52, 5 September 2009 (UTC)

North/Southbound or East/Westbound?

Many years ago the section of the Picaddilly Line between Holborn and Cockfosters was labelled as Northbound and Southbound while the rest of the line was labelled as Eastbound and Westbound. However I recently travelled on the said line and noticed that the Holborn/Cockfosters section has been changed to Eastbound and Westbound (so the whole line is one Eastbound and Westbound), even though that part of the line goes up and down instead of left and right. I emailed TfL about this and here is their reply:

Thank you for your email of 12 May about the directions we use for our Piccadilly line platforms.

I do understand your enquiry. However, if we look at the line as whole the Piccadilly line does cover an area from east to west. There are, of course, some areas where the directions could be described differently, like the section you mentioned. However, in order to be consistent and to hopefully reduce confusion for our passengers we now use the same directions throughout the line.

Just wondering if this is worth adding to the article. Any thoughts? Diamondblade2008 (talk) 22:11, 4 July 2013 (UTC)

Map - T5

Shouldn't the current map be updated now to show Heathrow Terminal 5, as it is opening this year (or is it next year)?? Simply south 15:34, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

Can someone edit the map to delete the final "s" from "Heathrow Terminals 5" please. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 101.178.19.86 (talk) 08:33, 23 June 2015 (UTC)
