Rugby union from 1895 until 1913?[edit]

Although St. Helens Recs didn't join the Northern Union until 1913, had they continued to play rugby union from 1895 until 1913, or did they play association football (soccer) during this period? Best Regards. DynamoDegsy (talk) 14:26, 27 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The Harry Briscoe profile at saints.org.uk, mentions an Albert Pimblett playing for St. Helens Recs aged 17, is this the same Albert Pimblett? Best Regards. DynamoDegsy (talk) 08:39, 21 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Proposal to split this article in two[edit]

It seems clear from the article that Pilkington Recs are not the same club as St Helens Recs. The article says St Helens Recs "played their last game on 29 April 1939", and that "In 1949 a group of Pilkington employees submitted an application to the Pilkington Recreation Club Committee at Grove Street to form an amateur rugby league team. Their first match was on 27 August 1949 ...". I would propose that St Helens Recs merits its own article. Mooretwin (talk) 10:14, 13 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

As there appear to be no objections, I shall leave it a few days and then be BOLD and split the article. Mooretwin (talk) 10:13, 10 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I'm going to do this today. Mooretwin (talk) 09:45, 13 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
