GOCE Copy Edit request

[edit]

I will not perform a copy edit on this article because I do not think the authors have put sufficient effort into it.

Main Problems

  • Focus
  1. "The Pipe Industry of Russia is part of the country's ferrous metallurgy sector"
    • If you want this focus, then the name of the article should be "Steel pipe industry of Russia". In that case, you should first study Wikipedia:Moving a page.
    • If you want to discuss steel pipes and plastic pipes, then the article needs to include plastic pipe producers. In that case, a simple google of "russia plastic pipe companies" will give many leads.
  2. Does this article really want to list individual plants that produce pipes, such as Izhora Pipe Plant, or should the article list Russian companies, such as Severstal, that produce pipes (while mentioning Izhora Pipe Mill—that's the name listed on Severstal's website—under Severstal)?
  • Completeness
  1. This article currently lists three "companies". However, the template {{Russian pipe plants}} included at the bottom of the article lists eight "companies". Why does such a fundamental inconsistency exist in the article?
  2. The article does not contain a "See also" section or an "External links" section. Could it?
  • Citations
  1. Citations #1 (= 142123 pipe industry Russia is ready to participate in large international projects) and #2 ("Starting pipe path") are broken. You must test every external link in an article. If you find an error, you must make an effort to fix it.
  2. Citation #2 (name="trubprom") is nonsense.
  3. Citation #1 is improperly formatted. You make a good effort (though overzealous ) on Citation #3.
    • Always refer to documentation for the citation template when you write citations. You can start at Help:Citation Style 1#Templates. Pick the specific template that you want to use, for example {{Cite news}}, then go to its specific page, in this case Template:Cite news.

After you've corrected these problems, you can resubmit a request to the Guild of Copy Editors here: Wikipedia:WikiProject Guild of Copy Editors/Requests.

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:
