Largest?[edit]

Such boasts need to be verified if they are to stated as facts on Wikipedia pages... Place Bonaventure was not the largest even at the time of its completion, not even for buildings of its kind and use. With 372,000 m2 of floor space, Chicago's Merchandise Mart opened in 1930 litterally dwarfs Place Bonaventure. A couple of Wiki pages need to be corrected... 70.29.247.24 (talk) 14:52, 15 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

What about the Pentagon? It's both larger and older. 168.100.1.1 (talk) 21:38, 14 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've wondered that myself, I've actually been there and I didn't think it was THAT big! So it was a surprise to read that it used to be the largest... Even though I can't always trust Wikipedia, I don't think I can trust the original source either even though it's Place Bonaventure's official website! They can at least state in what category it was the world's largest building if it ever held such title. Maybe the largest multiple use building? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.26.36.105 (talk) 06:56, 10 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I will try finding references to this but Place Bonaventure was indeed mentioned at some point in the 1960s in the Guinness Book of Records as being the largest for a particular category (or sub-category) of buildings. Gentleman wiki (talk) 22:16, 20 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
