Advertorial intro?[edit]

The intro. currently has
By 2018, PlagScan served more than 1,500,000 single users and over 1,500 organizations such as [...]. [...] Annually, PlagScan checks several million documents for plagiarism.
Issues:

Does this content all belong in the lead-in?
"By 2018 ..." — does it mean the users & organisations "served" in all prior years, or does it mean the annual tally for 2018?
Why present similar information in two different ways?
Where are the citations to back up the claims?
