Country list[edit]

@Loopy30: Country lists aren't exactly banned, and 'South-east Asia' (which should be 'southeast Asia' I think) isn't adequate to describe the distribution of this species although I agree it's better for the first sentence. I can add some more but don't fix what isn't broken? —innotata 02:07, 3 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Country lists may not be banned, but linking to major geographical features (such as country names) should always be avoided where the target article has no additional information or depth on the article linked from. If the range is made up of disparate locations, a list can be used. Defined regions (North America, western Europe, SE Asia etc) are much easier for the reader to form a mental image of than piecing together elements of a country list. Biogeographic regions would be preferred over political units (country names) but best of all would be a range map. This map should also show the true range, and not just the entire country when only a portion is intended. Loopy30 (talk) 02:20, 3 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, making a map takes work. Especially to do it well and accurately. I'll just give a brief description for now, ah well. —innotata 03:08, 3 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
