Hearts for Hearts Multiracial/Multicultural Doll Line by Playmates Toys.- A product line to watch!!![edit]

This doll line has been growing in popularity and gaining much respect. I don't have a "source"...this is my impression from articles/Pinterest on these dolls.

The Hearts for Hearts Girls, per developer / SVP of Playmates toys - Gina Beebe, have been roughly patterned after the wildly successful original American Girl dolls. H4H dolls differ in that they are 14" all vinyl dolls, are much lower in cost (under $30), are all set in a present day, include girls from all parts of the world (versus US based dolls of the AG line), and don't come with a large selection of available clothes, accessories.

Each H4H doll comes with a small book about a girl who faces challenges in her situation but who works to make her community/family better. They currently represent girls from several countries/races.

Check the Hearts for Hearts facebook page or PlaymatesToys website for more information.

I mention the above info as I see Playmates Toys prudent in their management of this doll line (which I believe is growing in popularity and respect). For the last few years, Playmates Toys introduces two new dolls each year. Currently, an African American doll and a doll from India will be introduced later in 2014. Last year, a Native American doll and a Afghanistan doll were introduced. Other dolls representing other countries/races are in their current line.

It appears that Playmates Toys is carefully growing this doll line. They are probably not too backed up with inventory (at least for some of the dolls) as I read that many eagerly await the new dolls or are looking around to find the sometimes out-of-stock current dolls.

Those of you with daughters will appreciate the ever constant need to find quality girl-affirming and character building dolls which are also moderately priced. The value of the H4H dolls is further enhanced since they use somewhat varying face molds and face design which further individualizes this modestly priced doll line.

As American Girl dolls currently run about $105 for one 18" doll/one paperback book, one can imagine that parents/grandparents/collectors are glad for a supplemental or even alternate doll line option...which Hearts for Hearts Girls provides. ____ — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lindisfarnelibrary (talkcontribs) 13:44, 9 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
