spelling of article and place name[edit]

The longstanding official and widely recognized name for this location is "Plumb Beach," therefore that spelling should be retained, even if it possibly originated from a historic misspelling. LL 68.70.191.152 (talk) 10:33, 23 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. The USGS gives the name as Plumb, as does the NYC DCP Neighborhood map [1]. I've moved the page to Plumb Beach to reflect the name. I also edited the title to make it clear that "Plum" is a variant spelling, not a misspelling. Fitnr (talk) 00:00, 30 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
