Behavioral Ecology Peer Review Comments[edit]

Nicely written article! I made some sentence phrasing revisions, organization changes, and some grammatical/punctuation fixes to make the article read much more smoothly. Additionally, the first sentence in the “Courtship” section: “Poecilobothrus nobilitatus has one of the most complicated courtships studied by researchers” needs a citation, I think. Great article! Very interesting; especially the sexual dimorphism and the courting behavior. I changed a few sentences to improve clarity and reduce redundancy. One suggestion would be to improve the courtship section as it was slightly confusing to a lay-person who doesn't know a lot about this particular fly. Overall, great article; enjoyed the read! I thought this article was really interesting as it contains a thorough and clear explanation of a well-studied behavior! I made a few minor edits for clarity, but my main suggestion to make it good article worthy is a discussion of the implications of this well-studied mating behavior!
