It's not clear at all that the film has any reference to the song. Moreover, the film gets all the top google hits, so I put the film back as the first hit. I left Poetry in Motion as a redirect page so it can be discussed/changed without much problem. If anyone can give a more specific reason that the song should be the primary page please discuss. Something Mann said in an appearance ... has he said it elsewhere?[edit]

When I was in college and we showed this film, Mann himself came down from Toronto to talk about it afterwards (we also showed, the next day, Imagine the Sound). I recall one line of his which brought down the house, such as it was:

I was scared to interview Bukowski, because I had read his work.

Somehow I think Bukowski would have liked that. Apparently he had some great unedited footage from the whole conversation ... he joked about releasing it as My Dinner With Bukowski. He also describes Bukowski as the film's "anti-narrator" in that he's really not celebrating the poetry you're seeing read.

Obviously we can't use this in the article as is, but I wonder if Mann might have said something similar elsewhere in a reliable source that we can use. It might make a good addition to the article. Daniel Case (talk) 06:37, 27 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
