Footnotes in inbobox

[edit]

The footnotes in the infobox are specifically there to support the fact that the band is considered pop punk by several writers. The reason the footnotes are necessary is that for some reason, there is a campaign by various editors to remove the pop punk genre from many band articles, based on their narrow and opinionated definition of the term pop punk.Spylab 22:26, 21 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Actually myself, being from the era, just considered these guys New Wave - those other terms hadn't become entrenched in the musico-critical psyche yet; they were New Wave with a Punk edge, and of course "part of the Vancouver punk scene" which included The Subhumans, D.O.A., the Modernettes and eclectica like UJ3RK5 and I, Braineater. I dont' care what people have called/analyzed them as since; I know what we called them then....Skookum1 (talk) 06:02, 15 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Wow. Really revisionist history here. The de-emphasis on Dimwit as drummer is really disrespectful, considering that the major recordings and photos best known in the original days were Dimwit. I understand that the reunion version is trying to promote this lineup as the original, but it certainly isn't what would be considered the "classic" lineup, based on recordings and photos normally available and associated with the band in it's first (and main) heyday. Whoever wrote this article should rephrase to not make Dimwit look like such a little afterthought. R.50.47.246.194 (talk) 03:31, 4 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
