The introduction needs to be expanded quite a bit. Rather than jumping straight to temperature inversions, it would be good to have a summary such as "Atmospheric conditions in the polar regions differ from that of lower latitudes due to extremely low temperatures, the year-round presence of land and sea ice, and the yearly cycle of solar radiation. Notable consequences of these differences include frequent temperature and specific humidity inversions, high cloud cover, and the presence of mixed-phase clouds." Of course, the rest of the article could be expanded as well. The section on carbon dioxide may fit better in the Polar Climate article. Dm-watkins (talk) 19:35, 19 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
