I personally found the article useful FWIW, but I'm not an expert on judging what meets the Wikipedia guidelines. In any event I would disagree with the suggestion for two individual entries. If the brothers merit an entry at all, it should probably be as is: "The Polish Brothers" because that how they have worked and how film publications refer to them. I removed a lot of pov content, toned the language down a bit and did some wikifying. The article still needs a fair amount of work done. Beach drifter (talk) 03:52, 26 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Argument for 3 articles or restructuring

[edit]

They aren't conjoined twins, so they do sometimes work separately from each other. The brothers are notable enough that we need to have 3 separate sections in this article on 1)their work as a team and 2)their work independent of each other. this would include a filmography that lists their actual screen credits (1 film as actors, others as a director/writer team, others separately). We could alternatively have 3 articles, one with this name, and the two others for their solo works (and solo personal lives). i dont think they date one woman between them at a time. ghits: "the polish brothers" 470. "mark polish" 839. "michael polish" 793. according to wikipedia traffic stats, they are searched for somewhat more often as brothers than as individuals.(mercurywoodrose)76.232.10.199 (talk) 04:51, 5 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Giving the brothers their own pages

[edit]

When Twin Falls Idaho came out, I understand having them simply be The Polish Brothers. At this point though, it makes sense to split them. Their body of work is quite divergent, and I'm not understanding why they are still labeled as one entity. Thoughts? I'd love to change this up. Donmike10 (talk) 00:59, 19 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Ethnic roots

[edit]

Is this source reliable? It says:

Ethnicity:

  • Croatian (paternal grandfather)
  • English, German, Czech (paternal grandmother)
  • Mexican (mother)
  • Michael is the son of Adriana (Araiza) and Delbert Mathew Polish. Michael’s father is from Montana, and has Croatian, English, German, and one eighth Czech, ancestry. Michael’s mother is of Mexican descent, and was born in Nogales, Sonora, Mexico.
  • Michael’s paternal grandfather was Matthew Thomas “Matt” Polish (the son of Mathias/Matthew Polish and Agathia/Agnes “Aggie” Tadevech/Todovich). Michael’s grandfather Matthew was born in Montana. Mathias was born in Agram, Austria (now Zagreb, Croatia), the son of Joseph Polish and Mary Thomanovich. Agathia was also born in Croatia. Mathias and Agathia were listed as Croatian speakers on the 1920 U.S. Census.
  • Michael’s paternal grandmother was Iva May G. Bourn (the daughter of William M. Bourn and Nettie Malinda Stepanek). Iva was born in Nebraska. William was the son of Joseph Mortimer Bourn and Elizabeth Buffington. Nettie was the daughter of Joseph Stepanek, who was from Bohemia, and of Anna Emma Statzer, whose parents were German.
