First Usage
[edit]Not to be contrarian, but two prior sources come to mind: Luskin wrote "Measuring Political Sophistication" in 1987 (Journal of Political Science, Vol 31, No. 4, pp. 856-899), several years prior to the cited article, although the concept that became known as political sophistication goes back to at least Phillip Converse's 1964 essay, "The Nature of Belief Systems in Mass Publics".
