Untitled[edit]

QUESTION: The presidential term is listed as four years, but for how many terms may an Iranian be president? Tzanyrr (talk) 20:38, 1 July 2009 (UTC)Tzanyrr[reply]

This page ought to be updated to reflect the results of the 2005 presidential election. Could someone be kind enough to do it?

Parties[edit]

Unfortunately I don't have the time at the moment to do a thorough correction, but the part about parties is definitely misleading. The groups mentioned in the table (Green Movement, Alliance of Builders etc.) are definitely not parties as in the definition used in political science. They are important and influential power groups in Iran, but they are not parties.


Hooshang Amirahmadi[edit]

I removed the section about Hooshang Amirahmadi as the citation provided was not operable and the wording suggested a pro-Amirahmadi POV, and thereby a violation of NPOV. 147.9.201.86 (talk) 18:31, 13 January 2009 (UTC) pie[reply]

Clean up tag[edit]

The article needs some clean up. Each of Iran's government branches now have their own pages. Yet it is hard to navigate thru them from here, which should be the starting point.

Also the information is not presented in a concise, organized manner. The main page of Iran has a good section on politics in Iran, which could be used to make this page's organization of topics.

Wrong Link[edit]

This page shows the Telecommunications ministry to be at www.dci.ir

DCI is in fact Datacommunications of Iran, which is a subsidiary of the government telephone company, TCI (www.tci.ir, Telephone Company of Iran). TCI itself is not the same as the actual Telecommunicaitons Ministry, the link for which I don't have, but I'll try to get it.. --Commking 06:33, 12 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Bias[edit]

The page says "In February 2004 Parliament elections, the Council of Guardians banned thousands of candidates, including most of the reformist members of the parliament and all the candidates of the Islamic Iran Participation Front party from running. This led to a win by the conservatives of at least 70% of the seats. Approximately 60% of the elegible voting population participated in the elections", which is fair enough but this reflects badly on the situation of democracy in Iran when it is not mentioned that in the more recent June 2005 elections they did not do this.

Merge[edit]

There should be an article about political groups and parties in Iran, but the content of this article is more relevant with "Government of Iran". Section move[edit]

I'm going to move the subsection on "Criticism" to the bottom of the page in its own section. It seems more appropriate to list criticism after actually giving details about the system, and this is usually done for criticism sections. The Behnam 06:19, 11 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Would it be possible to have this article, which seems to deal exclusively with the current government, have a pointer to whatever article describes the previous systems, if such an article can be found? Like in the "See also" section, or something. TIA,

Criticism of the system[edit]

In the last paragraph it says: "Neither of these two laws are mandated by the constitution and are ordinary laws passed by the Parliament or the Assembly of Experts [11], which therefore can theoretically be reversed." What does that mean? Which are "these two laws"? The paragraph doesn't make sense because no "two laws" are mentioned in the previous paragraph.

Poor source citation 12[edit]

Important notice[edit]

The government section of the "Outline of Iran" needs to be checked, corrected, and completed -- especially the subsections for the government branches.

When the country outlines were created, temporary data (that matched most of the countries but not all) was used to speed up the process. Those countries for which the temporary data does not match must be replaced with the correct information.

The result of this rather old discussion was to have separate articles on Government and politics, just how we do it in other cases such as India and United Kingdom. I disagree with you. There are separate articles for Politics of India and Government of India or Government of the United Kingdom and Politics of the United Kingdom. However, most of the duplicated information should move to one of them.--Seyyed(t-c) 11:03, 4 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Homiho:I just told you above; you broke the attribution requirement by failing to attribute the source of the article you forked. To expand; "Attribution—You must attribute the work in the manner specified by the author or licensor (but not in any way that suggests that they endorse you or your use of the work.)". When you split/fork/copy inside WP you must follow these instructions:

As I see, there is little duplicated information. Government of Islamic Republic of Iran is about the legal structure of the government of Islamic republic of Iran while Politics of Iran is about political activities in Iran.--Seyyed(t-c) 04:53, 16 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Tourism in Iran[edit]

Tourism in Iran is still slowly developing, but it has been improving. The transportation, people, and sites are incredibly amazing. Everyone is kind and warm-hearted. I watched a YouTube video of a person called Jacob Laukitis who really enjoyed his stay in Iran. Politically, the situation is very complex and tough, but the Tourism industry is improving importantly. What are your thoughts on the situation? Please recall your words before you answer.
