Politics didn't begin in 1960 [edit]

I honestly think Politics in Madagascar should begin before 1960. Especialy since the political evolution of the Malgasy people can not be addressed elswhere. If no one dissagrees then I will try to begin reediting this article accordingly.

I am currently writing a 10 page paper on the history of Madagascar, and The politics began before independence, especially the culture gap between the upper class, primarily those who lived on the highland area, and those who lived on the coast. Those who lived on the central platue were able to grow much more food than those who lived on the coast which created a food surplus, specialization and so on. The culture gap has an immense effect on politics, as it is much easier for the upper class, once again, primarily those whose ancestors lived in the central area, and the ''cotier'', a Merina word for those who live on the coast. This difference is so evident today, because the capital is located on the central platue, and most people who live outside the capital are very poor today. I also believe that Ravalomanana is a ''cotier'', but i could be wrong.[reply]

Is the Salman Khan listed as a candidate in the 2006 presidential election really the same Salman Khan as the Bollywood start? The link would suggest so.Manormadman (talk) 16:44, 3 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Important notice[edit]

The government section of the "Outline of Madagascar" needs to be checked, corrected, and completed -- especially the subsections for the government branches.

When the country outlines were created, temporary data (that matched most of the countries but not all) was used to speed up the process. Those countries for which the temporary data does not match must be replaced with the correct information.
