File:Porcelain Black.jpg Nominated for speedy Deletion[edit]

An image used in this article, File:Porcelain Black.jpg, has been nominated for speedy deletion at Wikimedia Commons for the following reason: Copyright violations
What should I do?
Speedy deletions at commons tend to take longer than they do on Wikipedia, so there is no rush to respond. If you feel the deletion can be contested then please do so (commons:COM:SPEEDY has further information). Otherwise consider finding a replacement image before deletion occurs.

Previous discography and alias?[edit]

Since Porcelain Black was previously known as Porcelain and the Tramps, and she published an album under that alias, should it be included here or on a Porcelain and the Tramps page (which doesn't exist... yet)? Thevampireashlee (talk) 01:34, 23 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

No released album or single came about from that, what is there to add? Fixer23 (talk) 03:21, 25 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The Porcelain And The Tramps album should be added kinda like Lana Del Rey's http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sirens_(May_Jailer_album) Cuteboy4u (talk) 05:44, 24 December 2012 (UTC)Cuteboy4u[reply]

Age?[edit]

There's was a dispute about her age earlier, being 25 or 23. A user added a source (V magazine) that called her 23 years old and that was that. But more recently, a new source was added for her Rock of Ages involvement, which lists her as 25 years old (Interview magazine). 25 makes more sense to me, especially if she was approached by Courtney Love to sing on her album (2004), which would place her around 18 years old and corroborate with the rest of her story. I think someone needs to tweet her to ask her or something. Take note, a lot of websites use Wikipedia for research, so obviously the age they list can be influenced by what was listed here (it was oscillating pretty frequently over the past weeks). Fixer23 (talk) 06:58, 30 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

From what I've seen, many of her fansites (for both Porcelain and the Tramps, and Porcelain as a solo artist) list her date of birth as 1985. Googling "Alaina Beaton 1985" brings up pages of results which predate her solo efforts, but unfortunately none of them can be used as a source. I'm sure if you asked her on Twitter you wouldn't get an answer - sounds like her record company are for some reason trying to make her younger than she is. VendibleBody (talk) 20:58, 30 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. I feel most of the information out there is a feedback loop from what was posted here previously. For now, I think age 1987 should stay, since VMagazine is a renowned magazine, and it appears in print as well as online, so it's likely sources are checked to be legit before publishing tons of copies. A little off topic, whoever posted the sound clip is a genius. Definitely adds a nice touch to the article! Also, I'm still browsing Flickr every few days for a public domain image for Porcelain. --Thevampireashlee (talk) 03:56, 4 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Bam Margera[edit]

I'm surprised there's nothing listed here about Bam Margera being her boyfriend --69.204.207.65 (talk) 00:10, 15 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

What should I do?

Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Commons Undeletion Request

Debut Album[edit]

Any trainwrecks we got editing on here, I have begun work on a page for Black's debut album here !!! You may edit freely, but I am a very harsh perfectionist. I am looking for help grammatically, and help to find reliable sources that may add to the articles composition and background! #TRAINWRECKARMY[sic] WikiUhOh (talk) 03:15, 9 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Initial Comments[edit]

  • Lead
  • The claim that Black gained a "cult following" needs to be sourced as it could be challenged.
  • "Musically, she fuses industrial themes with pop music conventions such as electronic synths and a heavy reliance upon hooks. The combination polarizing opinions, she is best known for her guttural vocals and two-toned hair." This doesn't make sense fully - what combination is polarizing opinion? Pop/industrial music or guttural vocals/two-toned hair -- could this be arranged more clearly? Furthermore, are there sources that prove something is polarizing?
  •  Done I decided to remove both concerns, as they seem to violate WP:BLP. Originally, I believed the sources under "Public Image" supported the polarization of opinion, but that might be original research. "Cult following" was OR obtained from source 5 which mentions the Myspace fandom.--Thevampireashlee (talk) 02:04, 29 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

where's Mannequin Factory?[edit]

how come it got dissolved? where can i find even a previous draft of it? it just got released last month. am i missing something here?zlouiemark [ T ] [ C ] 05:08, 14 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

It wasn't officially released, but its songs were deliberately "leaked" over the internet. The leak should probably be mentioned in the article. Korny O'Near (talk) 20:09, 15 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
