Other depictions, historical, largely negative

[edit]

Lots in Italian and other European comics where Mormon stories were pretty popular.

Mike Homer and Sal Velluto are good sources for these. I can give you contact info, if you contact me off Wp.

Book of Mormon

[edit]

Did John Held, Jr really do BofM illustrations? I would love to see those.

I was curious too! I was wrong and should have read more closely; it looks like it was John Held Sr. (John Held Jr. wasn't even born yet!) You can see them on the archive.org version of the Story of the Book of Mormon Rachel Helps (BYU) (talk) 18:38, 1 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Phil Dalby should be included.

yes, he's in there! Rachel Helps (BYU) (talk) 20:52, 1 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

There has been a pretty much constant trickle though....

iPlates

[edit]

You may want to cover iPlates, a multi-volume series based on the Book of Mormon. You can find more on it on Amazon. I'm not going to add it myself due to loose COI concerns (while I do not publish iPlates, I have published other matter by the artist.) --Nat Gertler (talk) 18:09, 1 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, the articles I was working from were published before iPlates, so I don't have a more "academic" source for them. But I did find a news article, so I added iPlates as well as From the Dust to the Versions of the BoM section. Rachel Helps (BYU) (talk) 20:52, 1 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
