"Here's a song about Stamps"[edit]

I found a few newspaper articles about releases of new Guyana stamp designs. I'm not really sure what would qualify as good information on stamp articles, so I'll leave them here and hope someone else can separate the wheat from the chaff, Cheers Estheim (talk) 12:34, 21 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

San Bernardino Sun, 11 November 1971 "Republic of China Lists 3 Stamp Issues in December" By WILLIAM A. CONNOR Summary: Christmas stamps designed by children.

Calexico Chronicle, Volume 92, Number 23, 5 January 1995 "O.J. Honored On Postage Stamp! Collectors Race to Get Rare Guyana Issue" (No author) Summary: Rare Guyanese stamps commemorating OJ Simpson made just before his trial for murder.

Merger proposal[edit]

I propose to merge Postage stamps and postal history of British Guiana into Postage stamps and postal history of Guyana. These are small, neglected articles that would be stronger together. It's already the norm for countries that have gained independence or changed names, such as Postage stamps and postal history of Belize and most other Caribbean islands with colonial histories. The remaining redirects will serve readers seeking out the specific jurisdiction. If anything, the main draw of these pages only exists to serve the British Guiana 1c magenta. • Oppose: While some of your points are valid, they are/were separate issuing authorities, so I much prefer and think it best to keep them separate. The issue is that more work needs to be done to improve these types of smaller philatelic articles but we have few editors who do that work right now. ww2censor (talk) 11:36, 10 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Closing, given the uncontested objection and no support. Klbrain (talk) 19:55, 28 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
