Citation style

[edit]

Doing my due diligence per MOS:CITEVAR, though I'm not sure how many people actually watch this page or care: would anyone object to me changing the citations to the shortened footnote style used in the other women poets of ancient Greece articles (e.g. Sappho, Corinna, Anyte)? I find the long mass of references with full citation details are harder to parse in this kind of article where the same work is cited repeatedly (out of the 30 footnotes, 6 are to Cazzato and 5 are to Snyder) and keeping citation formatting consistent is harder when all of the citations are handwritten rather than using any {{cite}} templates. • Okay, since there has predictably been a deafening lack of comment I've gone ahead and made the change; I discovered various inconsistencies in citation formatting in the old system which only goes to show how fiddly it was to maintain. Thank you for tidying up the references. Sweet6970 (talk) 15:02, 16 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
