[edit]I'd give it a high priority. Very appropriate to a print encyclopedia. Just because the term is only two years doesn't mean they can't have a very powerful voice during that time frame. Volker (chair of this board) will speak in front of Senate Banking committee on "Modernizing the U.S. Financial Regulatory System" 2/4/09 at 3:00 PM. I'd say that strong evidence this board already has a voice!
Other known member is Austan_Goolsbee member National Economic Counsel (one of three economists who advise the president on a regular basis) --Rick (talk) 18:08, 3 February 2009 (UTC)
Name Change to the Article
[edit]Since the name of the board has been changed to President's Council on Jobs and Competitiveness, it stands to follow that the name of this article should change as well, with a parenthetical reference or disambiguiation link from the old title. Nwlaw63 (talk) 17:14, 13 August 2011 (UTC)
- Changed article name to reflect the Council's new name and tried to update the article to reflect recent events. It could still use some work in this regard. Nwlaw63 (talk) 17:10, 24 September 2011 (UTC)
Outdated
[edit]The list of members is absurdly outdated. The list reflects the Council's membership about two years ago, back when it was the Economic Recovery Advisory Board before Jeff Immelt became the chairperson. Also, this page could use some information on the reports and recommendations the Council has released in the past year, especially given that much of Obama's economic plan as presented in the recent State of the Union seems to be drawn at least partly from the recommendations in their most recent report, and many of the actions of his administration have been in response to Jobs Council recs. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.71.173.5 (talk) 20:21, 25 January 2012 (UTC)
- I'm going to at least update the names of the council to be current. Nwlaw63 (talk) 23:30, 3 December 2014 (UTC)
