Shooter?

[edit]

I’ve played a few hours of this game, and so far it is not really what I would call a first-person shooter, especially if the very similar game by Arkane Dishonored is called just “[an] action-adventure game.” Why is it called this, then? DemonDays64 (talk) 19:57, 24 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Answering late because we're getting some editing warring, I did some google hit counts using the base terms "prey" "arkane" and the genre on google news to try to establish the most common genre:
  • FPS: 761 hits
  • "action adventure" 567 hits
  • "immersive sim" 536 hits
  • "survivor horror" 640 hits
FPS is the winner here - wouldn't say clear, but I think the reason can be justified in that you are more encouraged to kill the Typhon with weapons and powers that require aiming, whereas in Dishonored you can to not kill or kill with non-weapon approaches, if that makes sense. It is not a FAST FPS like you'd see in COD, but it more FPS than Dishonored. --Masem (t) 16:39, 27 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
