Succession box[edit]

Daniel holds his titles as Victoria's husband. Noble titles held due to marriage do not appear in succession boxes. See Sofia of Spain, Mathilde of Belgium, Elizabeth II, Mary of Teck, Diana, Princess of Wales, etc. Surtsicna (talk) 23:58, 27 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, but couldn't wife & husband, or husband and wife be in there? --SergeWoodzing (talk) 03:25, 28 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I am not sure I understand your question. Are you suggesting that spouses should be mentioned somewhere in the box? If so, I have not been able to find an appropriate parameter in Template:S-ttl. Surtsicna (talk) 10:37, 28 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, perhaps they should, but how to do it I'm sorry I wouldn't know. --SergeWoodzing (talk) 11:22, 28 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Name at top of info box[edit]

It is my conviction that we normally have a subject person's actual common name at the top of hiesr info box. "Prince" is not a name, whereas the fact the Daniel is a prince is perfectly and adequately clear in the rest of this article. I am restoring his actual name where it belongs. --SergeWoodzing (talk) 12:15, 15 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

This is a topic that can't be decided here. It must be addressed at either Template talk:Infobox_royalty/doc, Template talk:Infobox royalty, or Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Royalty and Nobility to keep consistency across articles. If consensus is to remove all titles, then the documentation of template should be updated. Otherwise, current guidelines stay. 14nights (talk) 12:39, 15 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
If you want argue that he is royal consort, note: His title is listed as "Prince Daniel of Sweden" not "Daniel, Prince of Sweden". Even the article is titled as "Prince Daniel, Duke of Västergötland". If you look at other royal consort, some never held title Prince/ss [insert name], e.g. Diana, Princess of Wales never held the title of "Princess Diana" only "Diana, Princess of Wales". If Prince Daniel does not hold title of "Prince Daniel" then the article name needs to be changed to "Daniel, Duke of Västergötland". By my understanding his case is similar to Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, where he was made a prince, not just hold the title by marriage like most royal consorts. 14nights (talk) 13:22, 15 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
"Prince" is superfluous in that context. Most Swedish royals are listed without titles there. And please never reverse w/o reasonable discussion! WP is not a do as you please forum. --SergeWoodzing (talk) 21:14, 15 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Yet you are the one reverting. See WP:BRD. You made an edit that was later challenged. Therefore it is up to you to prove its merit, not the other way around. Surtsicna (talk) 22:33, 15 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Above is your "reasonable discussion"? Just because you disagree with Template:Infobox royalty as maintained by WP:ROY does not mean you can "do as you please". You have not addressed a single point I brought up. This article had "Prince Daniel" in the Infobox for a long time - thus consensus has been "Prince Daniel". And regardless of this articles 'consensus', project consensus overrules. 14nights (talk) 01:06, 16 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
By the way, your argument of "Most Swedish royals are listed without titles" is invalid since you were the one removing them within the last three days. 14nights (talk) 07:15, 16 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Mother is Eva (Westring) Westling[edit]

Please note that his mother's maiden name was Westring. Changes back and forth are getting tiresome. --SergeWoodzing (talk) 10:47, 9 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
