If an article is ever created for Signal Hill Elementary School, note that page is a Wikipedia:disambiguation page with six other Signal Hill Elementary Schools. Stonewall Jackson High School[edit]

I find it strange that every high school in the county has an article EXCEPT Stonewall, yet there is a disambiguation page listed separating it from another school in the state. (that page is linked on the Osbourn Park page linked on this article) Could the article have been deleted? "Hard to Believe"[edit]

The comment "it's hard to believe anyone wikis their schools" was left in this space anonymously.

I've taken the liberty of removing it from floating in space and adding a heading. As for "wiki-ing" schools, everyone has their passions. Some people wiki football, others a particular movie star, others still create articles on everything from thermodynamics to the Muppets. For those of us who are passionate about education and schools - particularly those of us who have dedicated our careers and lives to the field - often practice the same rigorous standards of research, citation, transparency, and communication that we preach. I find it hard to believe anyone DOESN'T want to wiki their school... but to each his/her own!

Name Change Coming?[edit]

While I'm not going to post it in the article itself, it is apparently being discussed. Word has it (and I can't cite a source yet) that county officials are discussing dropping the word "Public" from the "official" name of the division, to make the county's proper name reflect the ubiquitous "PWCS" acronym.

External link to unofficial discussion forums[edit]

An anon IP user has been repeatedly adding an external link to a "community" discussion forum for the "Town of Haymarket". I believe this violates the MoS since it "Links to . . . discussion forums/groups" and it is not the offical page for the town of Haymarket. Additionally, the site requires registration to post comments, which, admittedly, doesn't completely prevent its inclusion since the caveat mentions the provision about viewing them as well (which can be done without registration).

The website is not notable enough to be included in the article. For example, here's a typical example of its content:

Maybe the Town Council has finally gotten smart and fired the entire police department and let the County take it over. Or are Roop and his cronies so scared that maybe they will actually have to work and give up their life of leisure if there is a web page for them?

Finally, the contributor claims the intent of the inclusion is not spam. However, if that's the case, then why not use the link to the official Town of Haymarket website, http://www.townofhaymarket.org/? Of course, I'm not sure why the Haymarket link is on the PWCPS page, since school administration is headquartered in Manassas. Also, consider where this link is repeatedly being placed when addressing the question of spamlinking.

For now, I'm not going to get into a complete edit war, so I'm interested in others' opinions on the matter, including the anon IP's.

PWCS ranked as "fourth" largest school district in the Metro Area?[edit]

According to several sources, on Wikipedia and off, PWCS is currently ranked seventh amongst largest school districts in the Washington Metro Area, by enrollment. Baltimore County and Baltimore City Public Schools, in Maryland; and Virginia Beach Schools, in Virgina; all have higher enrollments than Prince William County Schools, as of 2008 and in some cases, 2010. I have provided two points of references below. If someone can provide evidence to the contrary supporting PWCS having a higher rank than the aforementioned school systems, please feel free to correct/update this.
