According to [1], the Dukes of Savoy used the title of "Count of Piedmont" from at least 1417 until 1447, when it was elevated to a principality. However, in 1436 and 1438, Louis, Duke of Savoy, before his accession as Duke of Savoy, uses the title "Prince of Piedmont", firstborn son of "Amadeus, Duke of Savoy...Count of Piedmont...". This should be Prince of Piedmont, since Lord of Piedmont is no longer used. Even the Italian-language version of this page is it:Principe di Piemonte . Wikimandia (talk) 00:21, 19 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
