Daisy the golf caddy

Someone recently wrote that Daisy serves as a gold caddy in NES Open Tournament Golf. I've actually always wondered this. I know the game shows Mario and Luigi golfing with what would appear to be two Princess Peaches acting as their caddies. It would make a lot of sense iof it were in fact Daisy who carried Luigi's clubs, but does anybody know if the game specifically refers to the character as Daisy?

To answer your question, yes. The same picture on the title screen appears as official artwork in the game's instruction manual. And in the illustration, Luigi's caddy is named "Princess Daisy" and even resembles the character's appearance in the N64 Mario sports games (well, except she appears to have the same skintone as Peach rather than the tan skin of Mario Tennis). The reason the game itself makes her look like another Peach is most likely due to the limited color pallette that the NES had (like how, in the original version of Super Mario Bros. 3, Mario's overalls appeared to be black when they were blue in the artwork).

Daisy in Mario Is Missing!

Of course she appeared in Mario Is Missing!. She was a clerk in the closed stand in that game. Princess Peach was not in Mario Is Missing!. --ZachKudrna18@yahoo.com

I seriously doubt this. The sprite of the girl at the info desk looks exactly like the Super Mario World Peach -- and nothing like Daisy. Since the makers of the game took sprites for Luigi, Mario, Yoshi and the Koopa Troopas directly from SMW, I would wager they wouldn't mdofy a Peach sprite to look like Daisy. Besides, I've never seen any proof -- text from an instruction manual or screengrabs from the game itself -- that identify the info girl as Daisy. Kidicarus222 21:03, 10 December 2005 (UTC)

There is a screengrab here. http://www.nintendoland.com/graphics/screens/mim_8.gif I don't think there's any reason to assume that this is specifically Daisy. Yes, she looks like Daisy/Peach, but the two were identical at that time, other than that Daisy wore yellow and Peach wore pink. This girl is wearing blue, so she could be either or someone completely different. I think people just assume she's Daisy because she primarilly interacts with Luigi, not Mario. Game list for Princess Daisy

Do you think we need to make a game list? Thief Lord 21:26, 10 November 2005 (UTC)

Well, it would tell people the games where she was playable. --ZachKudrna18@yahoo.com

Excess bolding of character names

This is something that has started recently and I'm wondering if anybody knows the Wiki policy on it: excess name bolding. I don't know why, but some Wiki editors find it necessary to make Daisy name (an any variation thereof) bold throughout the article. I can understand doing it once at the beginning at the article, but not throughout. So unless any of you frequent bolders can justify why you're keen on this, I move to stop it. Appearance In The Nintendo Revolution Mario Games

In the Mario games for the Nintendo Revolution, her appearance will be the same as in the Nintendo GameCube and Nintendo DS Mario games. --ZachKudrna18@yahoo.com

Neat. Where did you find this? Kidicarus222 19:45, 1 December 2005 (UTC)

Princess Daisy will be initially available in that game. You may want to choose her first. --Zachkudrna18@yahoo.com

Her appearance hasn't been confirmed yet, its only speculation --TBC??? ??? ??? 07:34, 24 April 2006 (UTC)

Daisy was in the E3 demo.

Half-Dinosaur?

Is Daisy half-dinosaur? Cause' if her father is a dinosaur, then she's half-dinosaur. --anon

The movie version isn't considered canon so her father isn't officially a dinosaur. Even so, one should also note that genetics doesn't, if ever, play a role in the Mario series. --TBC??? ??? ??? 07:33, 24 April 2006 (UTC)

Mario Party Voice?

Now, I know that Daisy was voiced by Deanna Mustard in games like Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour and Mario Kart: Double Dash!!. But there's a BIG DIFFERENCE between her upbeat, lively voice in those games and the dull, forced-sounding voice she has in Mario Party 3/4. I always assumed that Jen Taylor was voicing Daisy in these games since I'm pretty sure the only voice actors in MP3/4 according to the game's credits are Charles Marinet and Jen Taylor. Any ideas if Jen really does voice Daisy in the Mario Parties? Because she clearly has a different voice in those games. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 204.210.148.122 (talkcontribs) .

What are they?

Are Daisy and Peach sisters, cousins, or friends? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by RobinBob (talkcontribs) .

Nothing has really been confirmed, but the most reasonable answer would be that they're friends. --Agent Aquamarine 02:42, 20 May 2006 (UTC)

According to the official Nintendo Mario Power Tennis website, they're sisters.

"Sisters in arms". There's a difference. Agent CH 17:10, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

SSBB

Please stop saying that Daisy is, or even may be, in Super Smash Bros Brawl. There is no proof. Lots of characters are eligible for SSBB, but we don't have to make up stupid rumours for them too. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 199.126.137.209 (talkcontribs) .

And even then she'll probably only be a pallette swap of Peach. Again. --LoZmaster

I'm taking her off the rumored list, because it seems silly to say "maybe she'll be in!!" and put it on a list of released and confirmed games where she is playable. Evan1109

did u know tht princess peach can be made to look like daisy but daisy is still not on super smash brawl

Mona from Warioware

I removed the line in the trivia section about Daisy looking like Mona. There's some similarity there, but I don't think that's especially surprising or notable given the similarly cartoony styles of art in Warioware and Mario games. Plus, it's sort of original research, unless it's been commented on elsewhere. -- Lee Bailey(talk) 20:06, 30 May 2006 (UTC)

Character Differences Section and Image

I'm not sure this belongs here. The image might be a good illustration for the article, without the text, but the text in the image itself should be converted to prose and used in actual section of text. The style seems more suited to a game magazine than and encyclopedia article. -- Lee Bailey(talk) 03:29, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

Third eye

Can anyone get an image of this "third eye"? I don't have the version that shows it, not do I know anyone that does. I can't find any images through Google, either. — SheeEttin {T/C} 15:52, 22 June 2006 (UTC)

Not created by Miyamoto

Shigeru Miyamoto didn't have a hand in making Super Mario Land. I'm not sure who did, but as such, Daisy was not created by him. Kidicarus222 04:12, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

That one slipped right by me. :) It's fixed now -- thanks. -- Lee Bailey(talk) 04:15, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

Vegetarian

She said she was in the movie, so should that be mentioned?--Jnelson09 00:34, 22 July 2006 (UTC)

The woman in the movie was not the Princess Daisy of Sarasaland. She was actually intended to be Peach. They renamed her Daisy in the movie because maybe they felt that "Toadstool" wouldn't be a proper name for a princess (remember, Peach was still "Princess Toadstool" at the time of the movie). Besides, that movie is so far away from canon that there should be absolutely no reason for any of it to be refered to. - SaturnYoshi 06:14, 22 July 2006 (UTC)

Fanpage material

I removed a ton of ORish description of Daisy's personality, speculation about her relationships, various inane trivia, and some superfluous images, all in this series of edits. An anon, however, has been reverting this back into the article. I'd appreciate it if this could be sourced, or stay out of the article. - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire | past ops) 02:35, 11 September 2006 (UTC)

It seems a "Personality" section is repeatedly being readded, based first on verbatim quotes of personality profiles in manuals and turning into fanficish nonsense ("shows a seductive side in Mario Party 3", WTF?). Until Daisy appears in a game without a story, can we please stop attributing a personality to a character who is nothing more than cast filler for party games? - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire | past ops) 08:16, 15 September 2006 (UTC)

...and yet again, AMIB leads the way in destroying cruft! I like this. A sysop backing up deletion makes for a much smoother road. Hbdragon88 09:22, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

Super Smash Bros Brawl about Daisy beening in

I want to see Princess Daisy on Brawl because she is in the Super Mario Land and she has her hair due long. And Masahiro Sakurai is that Princess Daisy will be in Brawl and she will be in on the Mario Series..70.110.165.160 at Verison 23.

  • Sigh*

Fanboys/Fangirls need to get a freaking life.

With the announcement that Alternate Costumes/Color Changes are coming back. This most likely means that Daisy is Costume again.

Also. Just because Daisy was in one game doesn't mean crap to her getting in. Angry Sun 01:51, 22 May 2007 (UTC)

If I may ask...

Why can't Itadaki Street DS or Mario Party 8 be allowed to be added to her playable appearances? Saying that screenshots such as the Mario Party 8 character select or mini-games screens aren't sources is just plain ignorant. I won't be adding them to the list, but I think someone should. Whoops, forgot to add the (~). Hardcore gamer 48 08:29, 20 November 2006 (UTC)

It is because YouTube should not be used as a reference. If you can find a trusting game site with these screenshots, then they can be re-added and will be left alone. -SaturnYoshi THE VOICES 09:05, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
It's talked about on here. -SaturnYoshi THE VOICES 09:17, 20 November 2006 (UTC)

Fair enough. Thanks! ^_^ Hardcore gamer 48 07:53, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

It will be released soon enough, but right now I couldn't find any evidence that Daisy is playable in Itadaki Street DS. Gamespot's recent hands-on coverage didn't mention it at all.[1] I've seen the screenshots, but they only indicate that she appears. If anyone can provide evidence to the contrary, I would willingly accede. Dancter 22:50, 14 June 2007 (UTC)

Spring cleaning

This article was poorly written, talking about a lot of irrelevant information, and repeating itself in several places. I have started cleaning it up a little bit. (Fryguy64 14:56, 13 June 2007 (UTC))

Looks good so far. Kudos! Suigi 16:16, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

Where's the info about Luigi possibly being romantically involved with Daisy?

For example, their team names, or the fact that Super Smash Bros. Melee says that it's a rumor that she is "Luigi's answer to Mario's Peach." Note that the Mario x Peach thing is definite (if not possessive), but the game itself says that it's a rumor, meaning that Nintendo has taken it into consideration, even though the evidence could lean either way. 208.101.130.232 12:12, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
