Finally, content!?[edit]

This entry is horrible. Someone, please, quell my discontent. 68.173.91.55 (talk) 06:08, 4 July 2011 (UTC)SLY111[reply]

Finally, content![edit]

So I spent about 3 hours doing all of this tonight because it is long overdue. I generated the uniform graphic, uploaded the school logo, and authored all the text you currently see. I'm sorry I didn't cite more sources, but this has taken long enough as it is. The vast majority of the information came from my head via the official 2009 football media guide available on goprincetontigers.com, this Google Book called "Ivy League and the Birth of an American Obsession" or something like that, and other wikipedia pages. If I haven't cited those sources in a few days, feel free to do it for me. RWEnoch —Preceding unsigned comment added by RWEnoch (talkcontribs) 08:54, 19 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Recentism[edit]

Wow, this article is severely lacking in content. Compare this article about the team with the most national championships in history to the most recent national champion. Bzweebl (talkcontribs) 18:44, 3 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Same story, years later[edit]

This article is still lacking mightily. I'd try to add to it but the time period they were a powerhouse isn't really my cup of tea. Someone should really pick this up. Lizard (talk) 21:46, 25 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

lions to tigers[edit]

Any assistance with firming up dates re early use of "lions" then transitioning to "tigers" is appreciated. General context:

Interesting question. I had not been aware of the "lions" nickname. Here is some raw data on usage of the "tigers" nickname. Using the search term "princeton tigers" in the newspapers.com database, I find 0 hits from 1884 to 1887, 2 hits in 1888, 7 hits in 1889, 6 hits in 1890, 146 hits in 1891, 141 hits in 1892, 261 hits in 1893, 223 hits in 1894, 170 hits in 1895. While it constitutes original research, this survey suggests the that "tigers" nickname started to gather steam in the late 1880s and really caught on in 1891. Further queries for "princeton lions" finds zero hits from 1870 to 1895, so it doesn't appear the "lions" nickname ever really caught on. Cbl62 (talk) 03:29, 2 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
