Merger Proposal

- Closing this in favor of a merge, with no prejudice against recreating if specific notability can be demonstrated Crazynas t 03:30, 1 September 2011 (UTC)
This page should be merged into its respective Pro Tour season article. Those articles are already fairly borderline regarding their notability. A single PT event just doesn't warrant its own article. Most of the information presented here is in Magic: The Gathering Pro Tour season 2008 anyway. OdinFK (talk) 07:41, 30 March 2009 (UTC)
- The season-wide page is rather cluttered, and doesn't really reflect the structure of the information as people would be looking for it. It strikes me as preferable to spin out each PT result into its own page. For those who are inclined to look up pro tour results, I think each event is individually notable... there are 4-5 per year and discussions revolve around how a particular PT influenced the ensuing seasons and future events. Moreover, the information on each event is rather specific (format played, metagame breakdown, etc)... so reviewing all of a season together isn't standard. If the problem is that only some PTs have WP detailing that can be addressed. Genomancer (talk) 19:08, 23 September 2009 (UTC)
- The problem in my opinion is that it is very unlikely that more than a few select PTs can ever reach a status beyond stub. Originally there was a list of all PTs but that got really cluttered. The seasonal articles are not perfect for sure, but I don't see how a bunch of stubs improves is better. They are harder to maintain and harder to browse. It wouldn't hurt, though, to have redirects with possibilities on all appropriate PT-pages. OdinFK (talk) 08:48, 24 September 2009 (UTC)
