Revert of 5 January 2019 on the basis of no mention[edit]

(revert: WP:SYNTH. References are about individual articles and don't discuss journal in-depth (just in-passing mentions) and some references don't even do that (i.e., don't even mention this journal))

I'm not going to push further for this reverted edit, but I have to mention, in all fairness, that all of the references that were removed mention the journal Psychiatric Annals in the text. They did mention it in passing. The NYT however was not reporting on the journal but on an article. If the article is notable enough for its own entry here (doubtful), the NYT reference could be used there, but it is inappropriate here. Imagine if we were to cite every time Nature has been mentioned in the press? If Nature is discussed as a journal, sure, but just an article published in Nature? Of course not. And I didn't say that none of the references that you had added mentioned the journal, I said that some didn't even mention the journal. --Randykitty (talk) 10:56, 6 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
- I appreciate your concern here! As I said, I'm not going to pursue this reverted edit. I understand that these are not landmark articles and that the editorial policy for medical journals (in Wikipedia) does not include these kind sweeping notability reviews. However, I must repeat my original concern, which is that the name of the journal, Psychiatric Annals, is mentioned in the text, in all of the references that are listed above. "Mental Health Digest"[edit]

I find it near impossible to find this reference; NIMH had a newsletter in the early 70s with the title "Mental Health Digest" (so that would be the "journal" in a reference template), but I cannot find that page 63 anywhere. Editorship of Farnsworth, 1971[edit]

The editorship of Farnsworth is confirmed by 2 sources, Greenwood Press (1997) and Psychiatric Annals (Roash, 1992), but the main source for the the year of 1971 is Roash.

Dr. Fawcett continues the line of outstanding Editorial Directors since the inception of Psychiatric Annals in September, 1971, under the joint direction of Dana Farnsworth and Howard Rome. - Well, the Google Abstract for the Mental Health Digest states that Psychiatric Annals is a new monthly journal. The digest is from 1971. But, out of the three, this is the least academic reference, I guess.--Hawol (talk) 19:46, 7 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

This snippet is not enough to even format the reference correctly. Who was the author? What was the article title (MHD is the journal title, not the article title). If this Google snippet is all we have, better to delete it. The journal's own website is source enough for the year this journal was established. --Randykitty (talk) 21:38, 7 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
