Origin
[edit]The article currently seems to credit Montgomerie with initiating the practice. Col. Henry Yule, on the other hand, wrote:
- In 1868 we began to reap the fruits of systematic exploration by trained Asiatics beyond our frontier, a system originated by Col. J. T. Walker, R.E., and matured and carried out with singular perseverance, tact, and success by Major T. G. Montgomerie.
That second part ain't nothing but it also ain't "realising" anything or initiating anything on his own. — LlywelynII 19:21, 20 August 2024 (UTC)
