Cooper resigns with Australian Rugby Union

[edit]

This was recently deleted: "In December 2012, Cooper agreed to a two-year contract with Australian Rugby.[1]
And, today from the Wallabies Media Unit today "Quade Cooper re-signs with Australian Rugby for a further two years."[2] wcrosbie (talk), Melbourne, Australia 07:04, 7 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Phrases like 'impressive form' and 'mercurial best' are not appropriate for wikipedia.

Cooper's impressive form showed no sign of abating and he was named in the Wallabies 30-man squad for the 2011 World Cup. However, once in the tournament, Cooper failed to find the level of form previously showcased for the Reds and during the Tri-Nations. With the New Zealand public on his back, Cooper struggled in their semi-final against the All Blacks nudging the kick-off straight into touch.
However, in the bronze final against Wales, Cooper showed early signs of being back to his mercurial best playing at a quick tempo and showcasing his range of skills. But midway through the first-half, he was struck down by a knee injury which brought an abrupt end to his game. In the post-match press conference, Robbie Deans confirmed that he believed the injury to have been related to Cooper's anterior cruciate ligament.

The Quade Cooper page has plenty of room for improvement. wcrosbie (talk), Melbourne, Australia 22:49, 14 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Citizenship Updated

[edit]
Updated the introduction to indicate that Quade Cooper is a dual Australian-New Zealand national/citizen, this is important due to the previously ongoing struggle Quade went to get Australian citizenship, even though he lived in Australia for a long time and represented Australia in international rugby matches. Normally this would not matter, but the large media presence of Quade's struggle to get Australian citizenship makes it worth an actual update.
