Uninformative article

[edit]

This article is mostly about what Queer Tango is not and barely touches on what it is. Most notably lacking is any information on techniques for exchanging roles during the dance. Tesspub (talk) 09:45, 25 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Gender-independence or same-sex dancing?

[edit]

Reading around the topic elsewhere, there seems to be a sharp divide on the definition. The one given here is one but others insist it refers to same-sex dancing e.g. queertango.us. The insistence that it does not refer to sexual orientation seems a bit disingenuous, given the name. Tesspub (talk) 13:00, 1 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sources please!

[edit]

The picture says: "Queer Tango, Soviet postcard from the 1920s"

Is there really queer tango in Soviet Union in 1920? Is it really queer? I ask to see the sources and the context. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A01:E35:8A8D:FE80:C8E7:BC3C:5AC4:22F6 (talk) 07:16, 4 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Adding Information to Gender neutral dancing

[edit]

Hello! I have added some information to the Gender Neutral Dancing section of this article! I've been doing some research on the topic and I decided that this would be the area to add to.Rockstar815984 (talk) 14:15, 13 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Why is the title capitalised?

[edit]

Why is the "Tango" in the title capitalised? This runs counter to MOS:DANCECAPS. Cf. nuevo tango and ballroom tango. If you care please discuss this here. —  AjaxSmack  15:46, 3 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

It isn't the name of a dance style but a movement to eliminate gender barriers in tango. That doesn't resolve the question of whether it should be treated as a proper name, but my intention was to note that comparing it to "ballroom tango" is off-point. Largoplazo (talk) 17:40, 3 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry. I was thrown by "Queer Tango is to dance Argentine tango..." in the intro.  AjaxSmack  17:54, 3 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
