Naming inconsistency

Why does the article use "Aguirre" throughout, but the title of the article is "Quepos (canton)"? Are they synonyms? If so, which one is the official/proper name of the province? Deli nk (talk) 12:31, 7 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Looking at the Spanish Wikipedia article for this, apparently it was changed in February 2015 by a unanimous vote in the Legislative Assembly. It is now named after an ethnic group known as the Quepos (also known as Quepoa), which used to live in this area. Incidentally, it also looks like this article in the English Wikipedia could use some expanding... ~GMH talk to me 23:02, 2 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
