Questacon

[edit]

I got evacuated from questacon with my school on an excursion to Canberra. There was a fire and we had to go down heaps of stairs to get out. There like, wasn't any damage though. (i dont think) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ashiee-bear (talkcontribs) 06:30, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Not the first

[edit]

the article says that:

"Questacon – the National Science and Technology Centre opened in 1988 and was the first interactive science centre in Australia."

I believe that's wrong. Scitech in WA is the first one. According to this:

http://www.scitech.org.au/about-scitech/news/blogs/866-a-big-year-for-science-in-western-australia

That article was written/posted on 5th November 2009 and referred to the 21st birthday in past tense, so Scitech opened before 05/11/1988. On the other hand this link from Questacon said they opened on 23/11/1988

http://www.questacon.edu.au/japan/

Just clarifying that Questacon opened to the public as Australia’s National Science and Technology Centre in its current location in Parkes, Canberra on 10 October 1988, and was officially opened on 23 November 1988. Questacon was previously open to the public from September 1980 at Ainslie Public School. This information can be found here — Preceding unsigned comment added by 210.193.176.131 (talk) 23:53, 17 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

So I'm gonna re-word it so that it no longer says first. 124.169.149.60 (talk) 10:39, 11 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Forgot to add, I am not however going to edit the scitech article to say that that one is first, since even though it opened earlier than this one. We don't know that it is first. There may be some other science center somewhere that opened even earlier 124.169.149.60 (talk) 10:48, 11 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Assistance required

[edit]

This article needs improvement as there are errors and information is out of date. Questacon’s 2012-13 Annual Review provides recent information that may be useful. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 210.193.176.131 (talk) 23:50, 17 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

New changes to update and get rid of Citation needed =

Angela from Australia here. I was disappointed to see that a major museum had a banner at the top to say that it is a bad page. I would like to have a go to modify it. If anyone has further information that they would like to incorporate then let me know. I am only just starting so I expect to be done in a couple of weeks. --Angela WWW (talk) 23:24, 14 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I have now updated the page. I contacted the WikiProject Australia people and they were happy that I attempt something. I would love to have added a picture of the Nkrypt sculpture but I could not find anything with Creative Commons Copyright. If anyone can go and take a picture then that would be wonderful. I live a few thousand kilometres away. I will move onto other pages now. I hope that others will continue to update the page. There are always going to be new things to see at a museum and it is 20 years since I visited myself. Please keep it up to date.--Angela WWW (talk) 06:26, 23 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
